This is a trip conducted four years ago. But at that time I could visit Chaungtha Beach and Mawdinsoun (Mawdin Point), Ayeyarwady Division though foreigners are not allowed to go to the latter place principally. I have never heard of a traveler to Mawdin, so I will upload my article about Mawdin later.

I stayed in Grand Hotel (Lonely Planet, No. 5 on the map in p. 203). It was not bad, but electricity was available only from 6 pm to 6 am and unavailable from 6 am to 6 pm in all the accommodations in Chaungtha. As the air conditioner was not available in the daytime, either, you had to swim in the sea if it was hot. But availability of electricity might be improved because recently a small generating station from wind power and solar power was built.

There was a small paya in the beach.

This is a hole bored by a tiny crab. Crabs usually stay on the sand, but they all rush into the holes when someone comes up to them.

This is a gorgeous pair-ox cart. It was attached with umbrellas.

A beverage of sugar palm is available in Chaungtha. It is collected in the morning. It is still sweet during the morning, but it becomes to have less sweetness and more alcohol in the afternoon because of natural fermentation.
